Music Instrument Repair Shop
String instruments are built to last, but they don’t stay in perfect condition forever. Wood shifts with temperature and humidity, pegs wear down, and bridges can lose their shape over time. Even small changes can affect sound quality and playability. A slipping peg might make tuning frustrating, while an improperly placed soundpost can dampen an instrument’s resonance. Regular repairs and adjustments keep an instrument sounding its best and feeling comfortable to play.
Infiniti Music Repair Shop
With over 20 years of experience, Infiniti Music Repair Shop is dedicated to expert craftsmanship and reliable service. Every instrument is carefully stored for at least a year to allow the wood to stabilize before being assembled in Canada by skilled on-site luthiers. Along with repairs, the shop offers rentals, sales, and custom music lessons, creating a full support system for musicians. A passion for quality and a commitment to personalized care make Infiniti a trusted destination for instrument maintenance and restoration.
Restoration
Instrument Repair
Every instrument has its own character, and keeping it in good shape takes careful attention. A cracked seam, a warped fingerboard, or a bridge that’s slightly off-center can change the way an instrument responds. Some repairs are quick, while others require more detailed work to restore the original tone. A well-maintained instrument doesn’t just sound better—it feels more natural in the hands and allows for smoother, more expressive playing.
Violin Repairs
Violins are delicate, and even minor wear can have a noticeable impact. A slight shift in the bridge or soundpost can change the tone completely, while an open seam can cause unwanted buzzing. Pegs that slip or stick make tuning a struggle, and old strings lose their clarity. Proper repair work restores balance, allowing the violin to sing with warmth and precision.
Viola Repairs
The viola’s deep, resonant tone depends on careful setup and maintenance. A bridge that’s too high makes playing difficult, while a poorly placed soundpost can make the tone uneven. If seams start to open or the fingerboard becomes worn, playability suffers. Regular checkups and precise repairs keep the viola responsive, allowing it to project its rich, warm sound effortlessly.
Cello Repairs
With its larger size and greater string tension, the cello is particularly vulnerable to cracks, warping, and shifting parts. An unstable endpin can make the instrument feel unsteady, while a warped bridge can affect string height and bowing response. Minor repairs like soundpost adjustments or seam gluing can prevent larger problems. A well-maintained cello not only sounds better but also plays more comfortably, making practice and performance more enjoyable.
Double Bass Repairs
The double bass endures a lot of physical stress, which makes regular maintenance essential. Open seams, shifting soundposts, and worn fingerboards can make it harder to produce a full, resonant sound. Pegs and tuners need to be checked to keep tuning stable, and the bridge should be fitted appropriately to maintain even string response. Keeping up with repairs helps the bass produce deep, rich tones without unnecessary strain on the player.
Bow Repair
The bow is just as important as the instrument itself. Over time, bow hair loses its grip and tension, making it harder to get a clean, full sound. A repair restores its responsiveness, improving articulation and tone. If the stick warps or the frog loosens, the bow may need additional adjustments. Keeping the bow in good condition makes playing feel smoother and more controlled.

Setup Service
A good setup brings out the best in an instrument. The bridge height, soundpost position, and string spacing all influence how it plays and sounds. If the setup is off, the instrument might feel stiff, unresponsive, or difficult to control. Even small tweaks can make a difference, improving projection, balance, and overall ease of playing.
Sound Adjustment
Sometimes an instrument just doesn’t sound quite right, even if everything looks fine. Minor changes to the soundpost or bridge can open up the tone, adding warmth and resonance. Adjusting string height or tension can also improve comfort and response. Fine-tuning the setup helps musicians get the most out of their instruments, making them more enjoyable to play.
Maintenance Service
Taking care of an instrument doesn’t take much effort, but it makes a big difference in the long run. Regularly cleaning the strings and fingerboard prevents rosin buildup, and keeping an eye on open seams can stop minor issues from turning into major repairs. Seasonal humidity changes can affect wood, so monitoring the instrument’s condition helps keep it stable. A little routine care goes a long way in keeping it in top shape.
